Full Project Narrative
Low Temperature Hot Water Heating
Low temperature hot water heating is provided via a 50kW condensing boiler located at first floor level. The heating water produced is used to heat a number of radiators throughout the building and to heat a coil within the domestic hot water cylinder.
Due to the size of the boiler and the systems being served a simple system has been utilised without the requirement for low loss headers. Each circuit (radiator & cylinder) is provided with a solenoid zone valve to enable control appropriate to demand.
A single circulation pump has been installed to ensure adequate flow throughout the circuits.
Heating water is conveyed around the building through copper pipework complete with crimped fittings. All pipework is insulated with insulation and sealed to ensure a vapour barrier.
Ventilation Systems
Ventilation is provided to a number of areas via different methods to suit the application.
The office areas are provided with Daikin VAM MVHR heat recovery ventilation units. These are controlled via controllers interlinked with the air conditioning system.
The isolated parts office is provided with a Vent Axia wall mounted heat recovery unit. This is controlled via a local controller.
The toilet & changing areas are provided with extract ventilation only via localised fans controlled via the associated area light switches.
Air Conditioning Systems
DX air conditioning is provided to the office areas via the use of a Daikin VRV system. Ceiling mounted cassette fan coil units provide heating & cooling to the space as required. Each area is provided is controlled via a local wall mounted controller.
A dedicated DX air conditioning split system is provided to the first floor comms room with a wall mounted fan coil unit providing cooling to the room.
The DX air conditioning condensing units are located external to the building at ground level.
Cold Water Installation
The cold water domestic services are provided via a combined cold water storage tank & booster set. The cold water storage tank provides approximately 1,000 litres of actual storage.
The cold water booster set provides 1.38 litres/second @ 3 Bar, and is mounted internally within the tank with a stainless steel construction to prevent corrosion.
Cold water domestic services are conveyed around the building through copper pipework complete with crimped fittings. All pipework is insulated with insulation and sealed to ensure a vapour barrier.
Hot Water Installation
The hot water domestic services are provided via a 300 litre unvented indirect cylinder. The cylinder is heated via an LTHW circuit
To ensure hot water is provided at the required temperature within an acceptable period a pumped hot water services return is installed.
Hot water domestic services are conveyed around the building through copper pipework complete with crimped fittings. All pipework is insulated with insulation and sealed to ensure a vapour barrier.
CAT5 Cold Water Installation
Due to the usage of water within the workshop area a separate CAT5 cold water tank & booster has been installed. This allows a physical break between the workshop area and the potable water, ensuring the CAT5 supply.
The CAT5 cold water storage tank provides approximately 1,000 litres of actual storage.
The CAT5 cold water booster set provides 0.94 litres/second @ 3 Bar, and is mounted internally within the tank with a stainless steel construction to prevent corrosion.
CAT5 cold water is conveyed around the building through copper pipework complete with crimped fittings. All pipework is insulated with insulation and sealed to ensure a vapour barrier.
Above Ground Drainage
Above ground drainage has been installed to remove waste away from the water points throughout the building.
Traps are installed to all points to prevent odours spilling out from the wastes.
• Natural Gas Installation
• Sanitaryware
Natural Gas Installation
A new natural gas supply has been provided by the utility company to the building. The gas is provided to supply the new boiler located at the first floor and also for the future provision of gas fired radiant heaters within the workshop area.
Natural gas is conveyed around the building through copper pipework complete with crimped fittings.
A gas safety system has been installed to ensure the gas supply is shut off via a solenoid valve located at the incoming point in the event of alarm.
Sanitaryware
Sanitaryware has been supplied & installed
